Several months ago, I was chatting with a friend from church about her family's traditional meal that they had at Christmas--traditional Italian meal, that is. I excitedly asked her if she would teach me how to make pasta! She agreed, but thought that it would be summer before she would have time. Well, she had some extra time this week because of Spring Break, so she invited me over! Yippee!!

So, off I trotted to her house with my beautiful KitchenAid stand mixer in hand. Ok, so I loved my KitchenAid before; now, I am absolutely head-over-heels in love with it! Pasta-making is a blast with it! I am thinking about asking for the attachment set for Christmas....if I can wait that long! (Laura said I should ask for it for Mother's Day....hmmm, now that's an idea!)

Laura made beautiful spaghetti! She told me that no pasta-making day was complete without eating some of the fresh noodles. Yum. Can't wait to cook 'em and love 'em with some sauce.....

Isn't that so lovely??!
(I wish I would've taken a picture of Laura & me while we made the pasta! Next time?!)
Pasta wasn't on my menu for this week, so I had to improvise! No problem! I made a tomato, garlic, and basil sauce and put good ol' Betsy (the beloved KitchenAid) to work making focaccia.

This focaccia was absolutely wonderful! Soft, yeasty, dense, salty, and the flavor of the extra virgin olive oil came through. My husband decided that he liked it better than Pepperidge Farm Texas Toast. Whoo-hoo!
